Member Policies

At Port City Professionals, our strength lies in trust, collaboration, and mutual respect. Our Member Policies are designed to ensure a professional, supportive, and productive environment for every member.

These guidelines outline the expectations, responsibilities, and standards that help us maintain the integrity of our group, protect the value of membership, and foster meaningful business relationships within our local community.

The policies below provide clarity on how we operate, what members can expect from one another, and how we collectively uphold the high standards that define Port City Professionals.

  • Only one person from each profession can join Port City Professionals, and only one profession can be represented as a member.
  • Members must represent their primary professional focus.
  • Members must arrive on time and stay for the entire published meeting time.
  • A Member is allowed two absences within a continuous 12-month period. If a member cannot attend, they may send a substitute. You may send a substitute to two meetings maximum in a 12-month period; this will not count as an absence. A substitute can be anyone you work with within your business; for example, a lawyer may send their paralegal.
  • Members are expected to be engaged in the group by bringing qualified referrals and/or visitors.
  • Visitors may attend two meetings prior to making the decision to join the professional referral group.
  • Leaves of absence are possible for certain extenuating circumstances (e.g., an extended medical issue that prevents a members from working) at the discretion of the Port City Professional executives.
  • Port City Professionals membership lists are for the purpose of giving referrals only.
